Add New Post

If you have a blog as part of your site then you will want to know how to create a post. This is only the basics if you want a more in depth look at posts please visit WordPress.org

1. Under “Posts”  select “Add New” and a black post will appear in the editor.
2. Give the post a name and add your content.
3. You have to select a “Category” in the right column or it will be listed in the default “Uncategorized”
4. If you don’t want to allow comments or pings un-check the boxes below the page editor task pane.
5. You can also add “tags” in the right column.
6. Preview your changes by clicking the “Preview Changes” button and you can view the page in a new window.
7. Under  “Publish”  click “Publish” or “Save Draft” if you want to publish later.
8. You can unpublish a post or page at anytime with out having to delete it. This is particularly handy when you want to remove a past event but save the page/post for future editing.
